Create an easy flowing home page that shares exactly who you are!

Your home page is the front door to your online business presence. It is the place that your visitors will make the decision to “come inside” and find out more, or move onto the next place. So it is only natural that you would want to create an easy flowing home page that easy to ready and inviting.

As I shared yesterday in Creating Clear Concise Content the single focus for your home page should clearly state …

Who you are. What you do. How you do it.

Sounds simple, yet you would be surprised in how many people get caught up in the technical details of building a website, that they fail to make this clear. So let’s dive in a little deeper as to what this would look like…

The first thing visitors should see …

You want the very first thing visitors to see is what you do and how it can make their life better. Make a point of being specific and to the point.

For example, I offer customized websites, and do the techy stuff behind the scenes, so when you look at my home page that is the very first thing you will see. While it is also true that I support small businesses and organizations, stating this first would only offer confusion as there are a lot of ways to support small business and organizations from financial support, project management and more.

This is a great place to share a teaser that allows them to see if you are a good fit for them. Think freebie! Whatever you offer, make sure that it offers an incredible value that has then asking and looking for more.
