Time to dust of those unfinished projects and get them done or let them go.

Confession time… I have the hardest time completing projects. There are so many things I have started that could truly be amazing. When it comes to the last 5% of a project, I am a serious procrastinator. And this is something that makes me crazy.

Check out this video where I share with you my tips to dusting off those unfinished projects and getting things done!

Taking care of those unfinished projects cluttering up you mind, desk and business!

I always have an idea ready to be explored floating around in my brain. ALWAYS! I think it’s possible that I even have a million ideas a day. Okay that is probably impossible, but the number of ideas I have in a day is high . In fact, my life long friend Crystal with Cloud Nine Organizing often says that “I have an idea” should be added to my tombstone? because I say those words a lot! Every day!

Many of these ideas never see the light of day. A lot of them are worth exploring, but I may just not have the passion, time or energy to explore. Others will get jotted down on some scrap of paper, in a notebook. Some of these ideas take hold and for a short time become an obsession until I am almost done.  And then I stall…

Like the course I have been building… Build Your Website in 5 Days. I am a little embarrassed to admit this, but this course has been 95% of the way done for 3 months.

My biggest dust collection project

This idea started last summer when I realized that there are a lot of people out there simply looking for a little help and guidance in building their website. They love being a DIY website designer, which I totally understand, and they want to be involved fully in the process of getting their website up and running. They just aren’t sure of where to begin.

So last summer, I rolled up my sleeves and started to create. Things went really well at first. I had my initial course videos done in no time and a group of testers waiting to review and share their thoughts. These ladies were phenomenal honestly and it was through their feedback that I knew I needed to up my game.

So back to the drawing board I went and in no time at all I had completed all of the training videos needed to get my course launched. I got to work on the designing the course platform, which was done really fast. All that was left was the workbook to go along with the course and half way through that is exactly where I stalled.

I don’t know what it is that keeps me from finishing the last 5%. Fear of success? This is a real thing for me because once I succeed I am not sure of who I will be. Or if I can meet the new expectations people will place on me. Fear of ridicule is another one. No one likes to be made fun of, especially when they are giving their time and energy to an idea that came from the heart and soul of who they are.

I know I am not alone in this…

There are plenty of us idea people with lots of unfinished projects out there, and I say we band together and help each other out.

Here is what I am going to do with my Spring Cleaning month, and I would love for you to do this with me!

  1. Review those projects that have been piling up?
  2. Do a little reflection on each?
    – Am I still passionate about this project?
    – Does it fit in naturally with my business?
    – Do I have the time, money, resources to complete this project?
    – Am I willing to make time on my calendar to work on this project?
  3. Any projects that didn’t get a firm YES to each question gets tossed
  4. Any project that did get a great big YES too, goes into our planner as a priority!
